Barry knew he was “home” in 1985 when he discovered San Francisco and the communities of the San Ramon Valley. He loves its beauty, its architecture, its weather, its activities, and its ambience. Mostly, he loves its people, and he feels blessed by God to be able to live here. As a bonus, he is able to work closely with the best realtor in the East Bay. Barry was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in Mathematics. He was a Data Processing Officer in the United States Air Force and following his separation from the military, he received his MBA from The Harvard Business School.
Barry held financial management positions with Ford Motor Company and Navistar prior to entering the executive search profession in 1981 with KPMG Peat Marwick in their Chicago office, where he developed a practice focusing on the recruitment of Technology executives. He relocated his executive search practice to San Francisco.
From 2000 through 2005, Barry served on the Board of Directors of Brightstar Information Technology Group, a publicly traded Systems Integration Company. Barry entered the Real Estate profession in 2002 and is one of the most highly respected real estate brokers in the country. He was elected by his peers to be the 2010 President of The Contra Costa Association of Realtors (4000 Realtor members), and in 2013 was named the Realtor of the Year by the Contra Costa Association of Realtors. Barry is actively involved in the life of his community and church. He is an ordained Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
